In November 2024, I felt the pull to explore in a new direction — and Asia was calling. For our first trip to the region, Thailand was a no-brainer. It offered the perfect mix of culture, nature, and affordability.

We were blown away by the turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs of the Phi Phi Islands, where riding in traditional long-tail boats was a completely new and unforgettable experience. Phuket’s Old Town surprised us with its European charm and delicious coffee shops, while Chiang Mai in the north gave us a taste of mountain life, complete with stunning temples (wats) and a jungle hike alongside elephants at a local sanctuary deep in the mountains.
